“What Do I Even Wear?!” — The Boudoir Outfit Guide

If I had a dollar for every time I heard, “But what do I WEAR?!” during a boudoir consult… I’d probably have enough to buy a lifetime supply of soy lattes (which, let’s be honest, sounds pretty amazing).

So first, let me give it to you straight - what you wear is not as important as you think.

Yep. I know that might sound a little shocking coming from a photographer, but hear me out.

In my studio, the focus isn’t on perfect outfits or matching sets. It’s on how you feel in your body. Because when you feel confident, powerful, and comfortable—that’s when the magic happens. And trust me, when you feel good, you look good. Every. Single. Time.

Why We Overthink It (And Why You Don’t Have To)

Our brains are wild little things. When we’re nervous (and girl, being half-naked in front of a camera can be vulnerable AF), our brains latch onto something it thinks it can control.

For most women? That “something” becomes… the outfits.

“Do I have enough options?”

“Will this make my tummy look weird?”

“Should I go shopping or lose 5 kilos first?”

Breathe. I’ve got you. This is not my first rodeo, and I will walk you through everything.

In fact, during your consultation, I’ll share outfit inspo, recommend lingerie brands I love, and give you my full Style Guide to help you prep like a pro.

Let’s Talk What to Wear (And What You’ll Actually Feel Amazing In)

Here’s what I recommend bringing along—mix and match, or just pick the 2–3 that speak to you most:

  1. Classic Lingerie

A matching bra and panty set always hits the mark. Whether it’s lace, mesh, or something strappy and bold—go with what makes you feel like you.

  1. Bodysuits

So good for curves and for that extra bit of hold and confidence. Bonus points if it’s sheer or has interesting cut-outs.

  1. Oversized Shirts or Sweaters

Hello, cosy goddess energy. Your partner’s button-up, a slouchy jumper, or even a plain white tee can be insanely sexy.

  1. Robes or Sheer Layers

Perfect for draping, revealing just enough, and adding texture to your photos.

  1. Nothing at all (yep, seriously)

This is your permission slip to go full skin, babe—if that feels good for you. Implied nudity or topless shots can feel incredibly powerful and liberating.

A Few Extras to Elevate Your Look

  • Heels or boots – totally optional, but they do elongate those legs.

  • Jewellery – simple pieces can add that touch of glam.

  • Props – think champagne glasses, your favourite book, a jacket, or even your pole heels if you’re a dancer!

A Quick Note on What Not to Wear

Just steer clear of:

  • Busy patterns or neon colours.

  • Ill-fitting items or anything that digs in uncomfortably.

  • Super tight bras with thick padding—let’s keep things soft and natural.

  • Logos or text (unless it’s cheeky and intentional!).

It’s Not About the Clothes

At the end of the day, this experience is about you feeling good in your skin. If you’re wearing something you feel amazing in—whether it’s lacy lingerie or your fave oversized tee—I promise, it will translate into powerful, soul-stirring images.

So don’t stress. You don’t need to go out and buy a suitcase full of new things.

You just need to bring you, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Let’s create something beautiful.
